Worship, Worship and Worship More

Jane

Scriptures: John 4:23-24 Romans 12:1 Hebrews 12:28 I Chronicles 16:29 2 Chronicles 29:28 Psalm 95:6 Psalm 100:2 Matthew 22:37-39

The dictionary defines worship as an expression or reverence and adoration offered to a divine being.

What then is Christian Worship?

Christian Worship is the act of attributing reverent honour and homage to God. Worship is the act of giving glory, praise, love, and adoration to God, for everything He has done for us. People worship God and sit in His presence to celebrate what an amazing God we have.

How can we worship God?

In Psalm 100:2 we read “Worship the lord with gladness, come before him with joyful songs” and in Hebrews 12:25 we read “worship God with reverence and awe.” We can worship our Lord in many ways. With a joyful and glad heart through singing, prayer, praise in both private and corporate worship. By reading from scriptures, worship with others, and holy ceremonies. These are all forms of worship. Worship can take place in a church, with others or in private.

What does it mean to worship God?

When we worship God, we show our love and adoration for everything that God has done for us. Therefore, worshipping God should not be taken lightly. Worship is a crucial part of our faith. Mathew22:37 says, “Love the Lord you God with all of your heart, soul, and mind”. As Christians we are asked to worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:24). This means that our worship to God should originate from within ourselves and must be sincere and motivated by our love for God, focused on biblical truths.

Let us be encouraged to worship and love God with all of our heart, souls and minds.

Prayer: Lord we pray that as Christians we can live with an attitude of worship in our hearts, no matter what is happening in our lives. Amen.
